Heaven in The Hamptons

I want to start this post by saying I love luxury homes. I am constantly daydreaming about luxury homes. Not that I can even remotely afford them, but I spend a lot of my free time browsing the most expensive houses in different cities. I think mansions and luxury homes are so beautiful and fascinating. They also give me good ideas for my dream home. My favorite thing to do is go on Zillow or redfin and search for a city and depending on the city I’ll give a minimum price and no maximum price. I usually make the minimum really high so it just shows me the best of the best luxury homes for that area.

This week I wanted to zone in on one specific area that I have always been fascinated with; The Hamptons! I have watched many different shows that have had scenes of the Hamptons especially real estate shows, Gossip Girl, White Chicks, etc…. I don’t know who’s seen Gossip Girl but it’s a show about these prep school kids from the Upper East Side of Manhattan who vacation in the Hamptons every summer. This show was iconic and was my favorite show for so long. I also went to high school in Lake Oswego which is a town on the wealthier side, and some of the people from my high school have been to The Hamptons.

Anyway, The Hamptons is part of the east end of Long Island’s North Fork and it is a series of towns along the coast that has high-end bars, restaurants, and shopping. The Hampton homes have a very distinct style with shingled homes and tall hedges surrounding them. This is generally where the wealthier New Yorkers reside for the summer but many of the properties are available to rent or buy. When looking at homes for sale in The Hamptons on Zillow, the first one that came up was a 150 million dollar estate, 21,000 square feet, right on the beach, with a tennis court, a pool, sleeps 19 and so much more. I’ll put the link to this home at the end of this post because you have to see it for yourselves.

Not only does The Hamptons have a ton of available properties, but it has a ton of land to build on. There are so many lots for sale. The Hamptons has a very niche category of people who would buy property. It is incredibly important that when marketing properties, they are reaching the right people. When thinking of the target audience for The Hampton homes, I am thinking of the elite of new york and other rich east coasters. While yes, I would love to buy a home in the Hamptons, it’s very unlikely because I live on the west coast and could never afford it. Marketing properties on outlets that will reach the elite rich people of New York. These are the people that will be able to afford a multi-million dollar vacation home. The wall street journal would be a good option because it is a business-focused media outlet. Another way of selling these homes could be auctioning them off in very exclusive gatherings.
