Gwyneth Paltrow
I have always loved Gwyneth Paltrow for all the movies she’s in, mostly Iron Man, but I love her in everything. What makes me love her so much more though is her beautiful home. She designed her own home and it pretty much resembles my exact dream home. Everything she has done is so inspiring to what I will do with my own home. Her home is not only beautiful, but it fits her personality too. Trust me, once you see her house it will make so much sense. Here is the link to her home tour on Architectural Digest.
The European Theme
Because Gwyneth Paltrow has spent so much time living in Europe, she used a lot of European-inspired architectural styles in her new home that she built from the ground up. I like this because she wanted to build a home that was unique to herself and this home has hints of her experiences built into it. For example, she has a large room designated to the entryway. It is very European to make the entryway a room in itself, but this is a way to give people a warm welcoming feeling when they first walk in. She put a fireplace in the entryway room as well because it is another European trend in homes that she liked. She also has checkered tiles to remind her of when she lived in London. I just love how personal this house feels.
The Kitchen
The kitchen in this home is by far my favorite room. I have an obsession with kitchens and Gwyneth Paltrow’s kitchen really just does it for me in so many ways. First off, the colors. The colors are so bright and light and make the kitchen feel very warm. There are a lot of lighter beige and browns. The cabinets are a cream color and the cabinet and drawer handles are gold. These colors make for such an amazing kitchen. What makes it even better is that the stovetop is located on the middle island so that when she cooks for her family she can face them, rather than having her back turned to them. I love this idea and will be stealing it one day.
The Spa
Yes, you read that right. She has her own spa in her house. This spa looks like it came out of a luxury resort its so big. It is so beautiful with dim lighting, light-colored handmade tiles, gold shower heads, a hot tub, a cold plunge, a sauna, and a steam room. She got her inspiration from a spa she loves in Paris and made her personal spa mimic that. This part of the house would be a huge selling point for me. Not only would I spend so much time here, but it would be so cool to host spa days with friends. Imagine wanting to have a spa day and not having to leave your house.
Gwyneth Paltrow has some amazing features in her home that anyone would dream of having. I love her home because it gives me so many ideas for what I want to do with mine. It also inspires me to work really hard so that I can have at least a fraction of the freedom she had building her home. When I begin selling homes, I feel like I have a pretty good idea of how I would stage different homes based on different architectural styles.
